Thank you for giving the gift of Hope to our heroes and their families. Your generous donation of $78,795.59 received on February 26,2019 sends a powerful message of gratitude and respect to our veterans, caregivers, active duty military, and their families who sacrifice so much.

Because of donors like you, Hope For The Warriors is able to provide restorative services to thousands of deserving veterans like U.S. Army Veteran Stephen Siwulec, based out of long Island, New York. Currently serving as a federal police officer, the two-time combat veteran who deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq was diagnosed with both physical and mental wounds of war upon his transition from the Army. Despite his injuries, he has never limited himself and has committed his life to health and fitness, competing in ten Hope for The Warriors athletic events. After enduring emergency open-heart surgery in the winter of 2016, Stephen’s warrior spirit and determination to run again made him aim high and set a goal to run a half-marathon with Team Hope For the Warriors. He worked individually with Hope’s Sports and Recreation staff to reach his goals of completing two to three runs a week and a cycling workout as part of a structured, customized training regimen in support of his mental conditioning and motivation, going on to complete the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in 2017. Stephen has always been a passionate athlete, whose challenges have only strengthened the warrior he is today – and donors like you are a crucial part of his journey.
