Thank You From Make-A-Wish Mid South
02/28/2019
Dear Car Donation Foundation,
We are so grateful for your gift of $3,923.57 to benefit Make-A-Wish Mid-South. Your gift will have a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve, as well as their families and communities. More than 5,200 children across the Mid-South have felt this impact.
The Mid-South Chapter continues to grant more and more wishes each year to children with life-threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. These wishes have changed thousands of lives forever.
Wishes are unique for each child. The medical professionals who treat wish kids overwhelmingly believe that the wish experience improves a wish kid’s physical health and often serves as a turning point in the child’s fight against his/her illness.
Whatever the wish may be – to have a gaming room, to ride the train a Royal Gorge or to meet the Transformers – it’s a time for kids to enjoy their childhoods and give them a break from the deluge of hospitals and doctors appointments.
Doctor’s diagnosed Seba with cancer when he was just four-years-old. But soon after his diagnosis, his social worker referred him for a wish. He spent countless days feeling sick in his hospital bed and watching Transformers movies and YouTube videos. When his Make-A-Wish volunteers visited him, he wished to have a chance to meet the Transformers, like he had seen other kids do.
Seba’s parents say they’ll never forget the excitement on his face the day he met the Transformers at Universal Studios. His wish gave him the strength he needed to finish out treatment, and he had a chance to see the possibilities of the future, not just the challenges of the present. Thank you for granting wishes like Sebastian’s!
“Seba’s wish will be marked on his life forever.”
-Marvin, Seba’s dad
