Dear Car Donation Foundation,

I am delighted to accept your gift of $21,312.33. Your generosity strengthens our mission and transforms the lives of children in Northeastern California and Northern Nevada battling critical illnesses.

A wish reintroduces the magic and wonder back into a child’s life. Like Fabian. During Fabian’s first week of kindergarten, he began to feel sick and developed bruises on his legs. Lab work revealed that Fabian’s blood count was alarmingly high, and soon after, he was diagnosed with leukemia. Fabian had a tumor in his chest, and his cancer had spread throughout his bones. He began chemotherapy and remained hospitalized on multiple occasions throughout his treatment due to frequent complications. Despite his tremendous battle, Fabian’s blood counts have returned to normal, and he has continued to persevere.

Due to Fabian’s love for wrestling, his most heartfelt wish was to meet his favorite professional wrestler, who he calls “the greatest wrestler in the world!” Fabian was thrilled to spend the day with his idol and learn all about his award-winning talent, participate in an arm wrestle challenge against him, and ultimately come face to face with his truest hero.

If the impossible can happen once, kids can believe in their ability to live with or even overcome their illnesses. That’s the real purpose of a wish.
