Dear Car Donation Foundation,

After Jason was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, he turned to the one thing he knew would provide him with strength and answers during this difficult time- his faith.

“I believe everything happens for a reason and my faith has guided me through everything in my life so far,” said Jason. “I wanted to be meaningful and really count, so I wished to go to Italy to receive a blessing from Pope Francis.”

Jason and his family enjoyed exploring the city of Rome and, on the day of his wish, they were seated in a special section at the Vatican below Pope Francis.

“There really are no words to describe the experience,” said Jason. “He greeted me and laid his hands on my head and said a prayer. It was unbelievable and felt numb in every way possible.”

Jason came back from his wish feeling heled and, shortly after they returned, Jason’s family received astonishing news- since his blessing, Jason’s tumor had decreased in size.

“We don’t know what the outcome will be, but Jason strength is coming back,” said his mom, Marcy. “It was so meaningful to share this wish with Jason at a time he really needed it. He inspires us all.”

Jason is now a senior in high school and he’s excited to be able to participate in sports again. One thing is certain- he’s determined to keep fighting. “I definitely don’t like losing so I will never give up.”
