Thank You From Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia

Dear Car Donation Foundation,

On behalf of Make-A-Wish, I want to thank you for forwarding additional proceeds from the Wheels For Wishes Campaign. On January 23, 2019, we received $4,598.64, for the Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia chapter.

In our many years of wish granting, we have had the pleasure of meeting some extraordinary children. These are children with loving families and friends, and lots of hopes and dreams. They also have medical struggles and challenges that most of us can only imagine. Despite these challenges, these kids continue to inspire us with their bravery and determination.

One of these children is four-year-old Abbie who is fighting brain cancer. Abbie’s family tells us that she has a great fascination with princesses. According to her father, Abbie is normally a very shy girl, but when she dons her prince’s dress and tiara, “nothing can stop her.” She dances around the house singing and granting her sister’s wishes with a grand sweep of her princess wand. When she learned that Make-A-Wish was ready to grant her very own wish she had no trouble telling us that she’d love to meet “the real Disney Princesses.”

What a magical trip she had. Abbie and her family experienced a week full of surprises. Cast members at Disney World did a remarkable job of making her feel very royal. Her favorite part of her trip was joining the Disney princesses in a lunchtime celebration. The princesses danced with her, shared secrets and made her feel so special and cared for. On one of Abbie’s favorite Disney rides, two of the princesses escorted her to the front of the line.

Abbie certainly earned her very own crown after this trip. Beautiful memories like the ones Abbie and her family experienced would not be possible without the help of donors like you. Thank you for giving Abbie the opportunity to show the world that “cancer picked the wrong princess.”
