Thank You From Make-A-Wish® Iowa
August 25,2017
Dear Car Donation Foundation,
Every day, 72 children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Aliyah was one of them.
At eighteen months of age, Aliyah was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the result of a rare genetic disorder. The tumor lay dormant for several years, but by the time Aliyah was five it had grown to the point that she needed surgery followed by chemotherapy.
Though Aliyah was one of the unfortunate children to be diagnosed with a critical illness, she was also one of the 50 percent who get to experience a wish. We know that children who receive a wish build the physical and emotions; strength they need to fight their illness and have a higher quality of life and better outcomes.
Aliyah proved herself a fighter even before she was granted a wish—never crying when the port installed or blood had to be drawn. But “ the Disney trip gave her hope,” her mom says. After sixteen months of doctors and shots, “she was able to feel like a kid again.”
Although Aliyah may face future chemo treatments, receiving her wish has given her the strength and determination to persevere.
Your gift of $1,323.11 received on 8/22/2017 makes it possible for Make-A-Wish® Iowa to continue granting life-changing wishes and for you to be prt of the community making a difference in the lives of critically ill children and their families. Thank You!
Best Wishes,
