I am delighted to accept your gift of $8,532.27. Your generosity strengthens our mission and transforms the lives of children in Northeastern California and Northern Nevada battling a life­ threatening medical condition.

A wish creates an opportunity for hope and the ability to experience life beyond illness. Seven­ year-old Maleree went in for a routine eye exam that resulted in the unforeseen diagnosis of a stage 4 astrocytoma tumor. Her tumor was extracted shortly after her diagnosis, and she underwent localized radiation therapy following her surgery.

When given the opportunity to choose a special wish, Maleree knew her most heartfelt wish was to go on a Disney cruise. Due to her love for Disney, water sports, and boats, a cruise seemed like the ideal wish to Maleree. She spent her cruise days swimming in the pool and going on waterslides, as well as meeting her favorite princess characters while aboard. The cruise was an opportunity for her to spend some time in the warm sun, and experience child-like wonder once again.
