Thank You From Operation Homefront

On behalf of Operation Homefront and the tens of thousands of military and veteran families we serve, I want to personally thank you for your generous gift of $74,818.64 on December 26, 2017.

Your gift helps us fulfill our important mission: to build strong, stable and secure military families, so that they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Our vision is to be the provider of choice for short-term and critical assistance, long term stability, and recurring support programs for military families, and we couldn’t do this without you. Here are some highlights from 2016:

• We were able to provide more than 2,100 military families with more than $3.7 million in critical short-term help in areas like rent, utilities and home repairs;
• We provided rent and utility-free transitional housing and assistance to 108 wounded, ill and injured troops and their families at our 3 villages in San Diego, San Antonio and Gaithersburg, Maryland, helping them recover at our nation’s military and veteran hospitals with their families and with community support;
• We placed 121 families in mortgage-free homes through our Homes on the Homefront program, providing them with training and support to learn how to be successful home owners.

You have entrusted us with your generous gift, and we are committed to using it efficiently and where it is needed most. I am proud to report that in 2016, 92% of Operation Homefront expenses went to programs that provide support to our nation’s military families. We also received the prestigious 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 10th year in a row – an accomplishment only 1 percent of the charities they rate have achieved.
