Thank You From Operation Homefront
January 18, 2017
Dear Car Donation Foundation,
On behalf of Operation Homefront and the tens of thousands of military and veteran families we serve, I want to personally thank you for your generous gift of $48,619.38 on December 31 2016.
Your gift helps us fulfill our important mission: to build strong, stable and secure military families so that they may thrive in the communities that they have worked so hard to protect. Our vision is to be the provider of choice for military and veteran families when they have critical short- and long-term needs, and we couldn’t do this without you. Here are some highlights from 2015; we:
- Increased our emergency assistance grants by 13 percent, allowing us to provide more than $4.8 million in critical short-term help in areas like rent, utilities and home repairs.
- Provided rent and utility-free transitional housing and assistance to 48 wounded, ill and injured troops and their families at our 3 villages in San Diego, San Antonio and Gaithersburg, Maryland, helping them recover at our nation’s military and veteran hospitals with their families and with community support, and
- Placed 138 families in mortgage-free homes through our Homes on the Homefront program, providing them with training and support to learn how to be successful homeowners.
You entrust us with your generous gift, and we are committed to using it efficiently and where it is needed most. I am proud to report that in 2015, 92% of Operation Homefront expenses went to programs that provide support to our nation’s military families. We recently received more good news from Charity Navigator, earning their prestigious 4-star rating for the 9th year in a row – an accomplishment only 1 percent of the charities they rate have achieved.
This is what your donation makes possible.
With gratitude,

Your continued support and many very generous gifts this year have allowed us to serve those who have done so much to serve all of us – our troops and their families! (Handwritten note at bottom of letter)
