Thank you for the Car Donation Foundation’s support to help Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles achieve its mission of granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. On behalf of wish kids and their families, we greatly appreciate the Car Donation Foundation’s charitable donation of $42,449.81 received on 11/25/2020 from the October 2020 Wheels For Wishes’ Proceeds.

With Car Donation Foundation’s generosity, we can continue providing wishes for hundreds of children throughout Los Angeles County. The knowledge that wishes have a definite and positive impact on the healing process inspires us to help every eligible child experience the transformative power of a wish.

We are always so inspired by the unique wishes our wish kids dream of, like 17-year-old Eldy who wished to have camera equipment. Diagnosed with cancer at the tender age of 14, Eldy was devastated to learn as a teenager that her life had to be put on hold to battle her disease. She had a passion for photography even as a young child when she would often take pictures of her family with her mom’s camera. Eldy was beyond excited and grateful for her new camera, which came with lenses, a carrying case, and editing software. To top it all off, a professional photographer showed her some tips on how to take the perfect picture! She says her wish made her realize that she was able to overcome huge challenges, and that with photography, she can continue to create more memories. Today, Eldy is thankfully in remission and looking forward to becoming a professional photographer.

This past year the Los Angeles chapter granted 336 wishes. However, there are nearly 700 children in Los Angeles like Eldy currently waiting to have their wish granted. Now more than ever, we are committed to closing this gap and achieving our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child. That is why your donation means so much to us.
