Thank You From Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia

Dear Car Donation Foundation,

On behalf of Make-A-Wish, I want to thank you for forwarding additional proceeds from the Wheels For Wishes Campaign. We received $5,694.91 for the Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter on March 10, 2018.

With your help, we can do amazing things. Together, we can create life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses. In doing so, we touch the very heart of these children and their families with the magic of a wish-come-true.

One of these children is 17-year-old Megan whose wish to visit the beaches of Hawaii was recently granted. Megan thought that a relaxing week listening to the waves upon the sand would be just what she needed after months of grueling cancer treatments. According to her mom, “The thrills, the laughter, and the change in Megan’s spirits were more than any of us could have imagined.”

Megan and her family spent a week attending luaus, touring submarines, witnessing an active volcano, and swimming with dolphins. Megan thought these grateful sea creatures were “the epitome of grace and peace,” and she insists that she felt a “deep soul connection” with them.

Even knowing that her time in Hawaii was coming to an end, Megan insisted that her love for Hawaii would continue well into her future and she hoped to be able to return someday. With her fortitude and determination, we have no doubt that she will do just that.

Wishes are not just about a favorite ride at Disney World, or the thrill of meeting a popular athlete or spending a week on the beaches of Hawaii. Wishes have the transformative power to renew a child’s energy, strengthen their spirit and help them to realize that the future can be a peaceful place where dreams really do come true.
