Thank You From Make-A-Wish® Illinois
December 28, 2017
Dear Car Donation Foundation,
On behalf of all of us at Make-A-Wish® Illinois, I would like to thank the Car Donation Foundation for your generous gift of $29,061.63 on 12/22/2017 —thank you for making wishes come true! Your part of our mission is essential. Last year, through your generosity Make-A-Wish Illinois touched the lives of over 700 children facing life-threatening illnesses—providing hope, strength, and joy to deserving kids like Henry.
Henry was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of three. There have been many struggles for the now seven-year-old, but he never stops fighting. Throughout his treatments and hospital stays, reading the Harry Potter® books kept Henry’s mind off the challenges of his illness. Henry dreamed of leaving his world behind and entering the mystical world of wizardry. So when he was referred to Make-A-Wish Illinois, he quickly wishes to experience the magical world of the boy wizard whose story has inspired him to be strong and courageous.
Walking through the magical wizard world, Henry felt like one of the characters from his favorite stories. He picked up his own customized want then hopped on the train to the famous school of magic! As he strolled through the fairytale world, snacking on enchanted candies, Henry beamed as his wish came true. As he returned home with a hint of magic in tow, Henry now looks to the future knowing that anything—truly anything—is possible.
We at Make-A-Wish Illinois know that the hope of a wish is actually medicine. The doctors we partner with use wishes as a vital part of their patients’ treatment. They count on Make-A-Wish and we turn to count on individuals like you. Together, we are taking children facing life-threatening illnesses on their wish journey—helping them discover anticipate experience and remember the dreams they hold dearest in their hearts.
The ability to impact the lives of so many children and their families is only possible because of you. Thank you for all that you do.
Very truly yours,
Stephanie Springs
