Thank You From Make-A-Wish North Texas

Dear Car Donation Foundation,

We would like to sincerely thank you for your donation of $25,757.24 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. Since the inception of the North Texas Chapter in 1982, we have granted over 10,000 wishes and are continually growing each year. Our vision is to grant the wish of every eligible child across our 161 county area in Texas and we cannot accomplish this without your support.

A wish experience can give back what a life-threatening medical condition sometimes takes away, hope, strength and joy. Children are energized by their wish and the moments of magic provided by imagining, describing, planning and anticipating that one true wish are innumerable. The chance to forget about their condition for even a brief moment gives these children the innocence that has been lost in the wake of difficult circumstances. It gives them something to HOPE for. It gives them the STRENGTH needed to get through one more treatment. It gives them JOY that every child deserves. Families and doctors often tell us that a wish can encourage a child to see a future and make recovery a reality.

As one wish child Sam’s parents shared:

“As parents, we are overwhelmed to see the incredible people who so freely dedicate their time and passion to this cause. Of course, anticipating Sam’s wish was tremendously therapeutic for all for us. But it’s bigger than that. Being able to take a trip together meant that Sam can be just like any other six-year-old boy. And after what he’s been through, he’s earned the right to be normal for a little while.”

Because of your generosity, more and more North Texas children are experiencing the impact of a wish.
