Thank You From Operation Gratitude

December 4, 2019

Dear Car Donation Foundation,

As we head into this holiday season, I thought this would be an opportune time to again extend my sincerest thanks for the Car Donation Foundation’s tremendous support of Operation Gratitude. The Car Donation Foundation’s most recent donation of $104,618.90 on October 28, 2019 and total contribution of $309,707.94 this year will make a real difference in the lives of Wounded Heroes and Caregivers during the holiday season.

As you know, our goal is to ship thousands of special Holiday Care Packages this month to provide a tangible reminder to our Wounded Heroes and their Caregivers that they are seen and appreciated. During 2018, the Care Packages received on and around Christmas were among the most treasured of the year. The thank you notes we received below were deeply moving and emphasize the true impact of Car Donation Foundation’s significant financial support of this program and demonstrate the difference we are about to make in thousands of lives in the coming weeks:

“My Operation Gratitude package came today. My Wounded Hero and I opened it together. After a tough year it was fun. We both found things just for us. And made us smile. We have felt invisible for a long time. Thank you.”

“Oh my goodness you guys are so wonderful!!! I have been down lately and stressing because of the holidays and these gifts made me feel loved! Love you guys and thank you for all you do!!”

“This package arrived on Christmas Eve when I was having a rough time. The thoughtfulness and care that was shown by strangers not only made me cry while reading the letter, but lifted my spirits. The tissues came in handy. During this time of year, when stress pushes us to our limits, it’s nice to know that somebody, somewhere knows what we are going through. And for that, I am grateful to everyone involved. Thank you so much.”

“Received your wonderful box of goodies today at Long Beach VA hospital. My husband has been in the hospital for the past two week recovering from brain cancer surgery. He served our country in the Navy during the Vietnam war. We are grateful for organizations like yours who show how much you care. In this season of intense suffering we thank you all for your kindness.”

“I received my box today, Christmas Eve. This will probably be the only gift I receive this year so thank you all so much. It is truly a blessing. Merry Christmas!”

Thanks to your generous contributions, Operation Gratitude will provide special Care Packages again this Christmas, ensuring that despite the stressors of daily life and the holiday season our nation’s Wounded Heroes and Caregivers will feel the outpouring of love of the American people.

I can’t thank you enough for your support of Operation Gratitude, as well as your belief in your mission to say thank you to Wounded Heroes and Caregivers in tangible ways.

With Warm Regards and Semper Fidelis,
