On behalf of Operation Homefront and the tens of thousands of military and veterans families we serve, I want to personally thank you for your generous gift of $1000, 000.00 on December 27, 2018.
Your gift helps us fulfill our important mission: to build strong, stable and secure military families, so that they may thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Our vision is to be the provider of choice for short-term and critical assistance, long term stability, and recurring support programs for military families, and we couldn’t do this without you. In 2017, here’s how your support helped us deliver our mission:
- We were able to provide more than 1,000 military families with more than $2.3 million in critical short-term help in areas like rent, utilities, and home repairs;
- We were able to provide rent and utility-free transitional housing and assistance to over 260 wounded, ill and injured troops and their families at our 3 villages in San Diego, San Antonio and Gaithersburg helping them recover at our nation’s military and veterans hospitals with their families and with community support;
- We placed 104 families in deeded, mortgage-free homes through our Homes on the Homefront program, providing them with training and support to learn how to be successful homeowners.
You entrust us with your generous gift, and we are committed to using your gift efficiently and where it is needed most. In 2017, 92% of Operation Homefront expenses went to programs that provide support to our nation’s military families, and we received the prestigious 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 11th year in a row- an accomplishment only 1 percent of the charities they rate have achieved.
